We previously shared how we’ve repurposed our 3D printer to support our brave health care workers so that others may take a similar approach. We have since collaborated with other local companies and schools to print “ear savers” and face shields used by our hospital system, cancer center, and other health care workers.

As the COVID-19 crisis persists, we are continuing to seek ways to help. A longtime member of our production team identified a pressing need to support mask production, and quickly took the initiative to dive in.

A local business, Designer Joi’s Sewing Factory, generously transitioned their facility and enlisted several other volunteers to sew thousands of masks. They needed help with embedding wire that is bent in a way that keeps the mask affixed to the wearer’s face. Our team then bent over 2,000 wires that have since been inserted into masks used by health care workers and others in need.

This is another way to help ensure that our health care workers on the front lines of this crisis have the protective equipment they need to stay safe. We encourage you to share with others who may be able to offer similar support!
