On May 22nd, we received the U.S. Small Business Association (SBA) Exporter of the Year Awards for both the state of Iowa and the Great Plains Region (Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri). We were honored to receive the awards and to open our home to local and state representatives and other invited guests.

With the manufacture of niche products, we long ago recognized the need to look beyond our borders for sales opportunities. We keep a framed article in our building from the 1992 Sioux City Journal where our second-generation owner, the late Jim Rocklin, talked about the importance of exporting. In it he said, “We want to look more at the world economy. I think it would behoove fellow regional manufacturers to look beyond the immediate region for selling their products. We have expanded our markets as much as possible.” We have continued to advance the exporting effort that Jim highlighted in that article 32 years ago.

Our 25 international sales partnerships around the world allow us to have a local presence with localized advertising, in-person demonstrations, and a deep understanding led by those representatives of how to do business in their particular regions that we could not replicate from afar. We also take great pride in building, testing, and shipping units for companies across the globe. Put simply, our focus is on delivering the highest quality products, service, and support so that we and our partners can be successful around the world. This award is a testament to all the hard work that our team at Rocklin Manufacturing does day in and day out.
